Working Words on Screen

WHAT IS IT? There has been a fair amount in media recently about inaudibility on the screen, some of it justified. It's important to be aware of the voice/speech aspect of work on screen as it is on stage, even though the focus is of course different. HOW WILL IT WORK? We will use voice-speech techniques and give them a screen angle. The emphasis will not be on filling the space so much as finding the truth and focussing precisely to the mike. Bring some scenes, sides, etc you would like to work with. WHAT DO YOU GET OUT OF IT? An awareness of the dynamics of speech in the studio. Exercises that you can swiftly use in your preparation for screen work. Price: £18.
