The Actors Centre

The Camera Does Not Lie

WHAT IS IT? This two-day workshop will help you create powerful film performances that are grounded in the moment. HOW WILL IT WORK? Film director Alan Powell will guide participants through prepared scripted scenes or monologues of their own choosing. Emphasis is on authenticity for the camera. Performances are recorded, viewed and constructively critiqued. WHAT DO YOU GET OUT OF IT? You will learn how to create subtle, powerful performances for film using your ability to be present. You will also curb habitual behaviour that hinders a solid film performance and understand key differences between stage and film craft. Price: £60.
