The Actors Centre

The Basics of the Headstrong Approach

WHAT IS IT? This one-day workshop is an introduction to an approach to screen performance which defines the actor as an artist and liberates him or her from the stresses and problems traditionally regarded as unavoidable. No heavy script learning is involved. HOW WILL IT WORK? Participants are taken step-by-step through the key elements of the Headstrong Approach: observation, imagining and believing; thinking and interacting; meditation, energy, containment, characterisation and camera confidence. WHAT DO YOU GET OUT OF IT? Heightened enjoyment and a sense of confidence and calm control when performing in front of a camera. The acceptance of yourself not merely as an actor, but also as a creative artist. The ability to deliver truthful and compelling on-screen performance. Price: £55.
