The Actors Centre

Screen Audition, Rehearsal and Performance

WHAT IS IT? A chance to work at The Audition, The Rehearsal, and The Shoot, and discover what a director is looking for in you. HOW WILL IT WORK? The first session will explore the screen audition - what the director is looking for, making bold choices, absorbing the director’s notes and demonstrating flexibility. You will prepare a new script for ten minutes, give a first reading, receive notes then give a second reading. These will be filmed, discussed, and you can learn to be your toughest critic. In the second session you will rehearse with one other actor, block – with props - and shoot a learnt script. We will explore the close-up, wide shots and how to vary performance for shot sizes. In the final session all films will be reviewed and discussed - as will how the crew and a professional shoot works. WHAT DO YOU GET OUT OF IT? You will know what to expect on a film shoot, and, with this practice and confidence, you will get it right. Price: £80.
