Lydia Parker is artistic director of Over Here Theatre Company which produced ObamAmerica, a festival of new American short plays at Theatre503. Directing work includes Dolphins and Sharks, and Our American Cousin at the Finborough Theatre, The Actor’s Nightmare at the Park Theatre and many short plays for Little Pieces of Gold. Her plays American Dream and Gringo were produced at the Union Theatre and New Wimbledon Studio. Her short play A Better Pronoun was published last year in Short Plays with Great Roles for Women by Routledge Press. She has also had plays performed at the Old Red Lion, Southwark Playhouse, Drayton Arms and Leicester Square Theatre. Lydia has cowritten comedy sketches for BBC Radio 4 and a live sitcom at Canal Café with Maureen Oakeley. She has recently co-written the music comedy web series The Band Formerly Known As with her daughter Sabrina and is currently writing short monologues for a new online series.
