HOW WILL IT WORK? Chosen text, which will be provided in the session, will be explored for meaning using physical rather than textual approaches.
WHAT DO I GET OUT OF IT? You will have developed physical approaches to working with Shakespeare’s texts which allow you to fully engage with the body, text and space in which you are playing.
THIS WORKSHOP WILL BE LED BY SIMONE COXALL, GLOBE EDUCATION FACULTY
Shakespeare’s Globe. Globe Education runs a distinguished training programme for undergraduate, postgraduate and professional actors. Our work is delivered by Globe Actors, Globe Education Practitioners and specialists, who share their approaches to working with Shakespearean drama in both the Globe Theatre and the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse. Actors who work with us will explore how the unique architectural conditions of these theatres help to shape performance choices and unlock the versatility of the Shakespearean text. Our emphasis on text work enables us to help trainee and professional actors develop their own practice of classical acting in any venue.
