Fundamentals - Acting and Audition Technique

WHAT IS IT? Hour-long private consultations specifically designed to suit YOUR individual needs. HOW WILL IT WORK? The session will focus on exactly what you need – be it preparing for a specific audition, addressing your audition concerns in general, working on monologues, choosing a monologue, practising audition technique and presentation, combating nerves, practising how to take direction, how to sight-read or how to interview. (E-mail consultation with the tutor is welcomed ahead of time so that the session can be tailor-made). WHAT DO YOU GET OUT OF IT? You will leave with a very comprehensive understanding of the dos and don’ts of auditioning to help you land that job, or get out of bad habits which have not been working. Price: £45


Morna Regan

Morna is a Fulbright Scholar and MFA graduate in Acting from the University of Southern California and a BA graduate from Central. At USC she was coached in auditioning skills by Joe Mantegne, Rita Moreno and Annette Bening. In the UK Morna has worked at, amongst others, the Donmar, Hampstead, Tricycle & Traverse One. In Ireland work regularly included The Abbey Theatre, the National Theatre of Ireland, The Gate Theatre & The Lyric.Her most recent play The House Keeper won The Irish Times Best New Play Award 2013. Her play Midden won an Edinburgh Fringe First & was produced at the Hampstead. Most recently Morna was song writer and editor/dramaturg on The Taming of the Shew at the Globe Theatre 2016. She is currently adapting Doris Lessing’s The Fifth Child for the BBC.
