Auditions: Happy in Your Skin

WHAT IS IT? A fast-paced workshop for strategies for success in the audition and interview processes for professional theatre, TV and film jobs. HOW WILL IT WORK? Director and actor Mark Field - through exercises and role play methods - will teach you how to research and speak knowledgeably about the play/project, what you need to know about each director, casting agent, writer and company and how to present yourself as the actor they want to work with. In the later part of the day you will be on your feet learning how to stand out in an audition or interview and how to audition with impact. WHAT DO YOU GET OUT OF IT? This workshop will give you a range of up to date, fresh, practical tools to use for future auditions, interviews and castings and is suitable for all levels of experience. Price: £30.


Mark Field

Mark is a stage and screen actor and director. As an actor, he has worked with the Oscar-nominated Stephen Daldry, Evening Standard Award-winner Philip Ridley, opposite Olivier Award-winner Deborah Findlay and with Sir Ian McKellen. He has performed onstage for the Old Vic, Chichester Festival Theatre, Rose Theatre Kingston, ETT, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Trafalgar Studios, Soho Theatre, Arcola and in theatres in New York and Australia; and onscreen for the BBC, Miramax Films, Ecosse Films, Curve Films and many independent filmmakers. Mark’s directorial credits include August Osage County (Bancroft Studio) Tartuffe (Yardley Theatre) Days of Significance (Crescent Theatre) as well as the creation of an independent film company with the London Film Collective and Blue Iris Films. Mark won the inaugural Alan Bates Award, the Old Vic New Voices Award and was nominated for Best Actor at the Off-West End Awards. He teaches at RADA, Birmingham School of Acting, Mountview and Communicaid Business Solutions.
