“Just one visit to the Actors Centre will make you want to help it flourish” Sir Ian McKellen

“The Actors Centre is creating a pool of skilled and adventurous actors, raising standards in the performing arts at home and increasing competitiveness in the world market.  The continuation of the Centre’s work is vital to the cultural life of the UK” Sir Derek Jacobi

The Actors Centre, which includes the Tristan Bates Theatre, relies on regular donations and funding support to ensure we can continue to provide an affordable service to both our members and the general public.

Not only does the Actors Centre provide extensive support for professional actors and related industry professionals but we also, through our charitable company, develop and support emerging actors and artists through a number of open access workshops, initiatives and programmes.

Only through the generous donations of individuals, trusts and foundations, corporations and statutory bodies can the Actors Centre:

  • Support the continuing professional development of over 2500 actors a year by keeping prices as affordable as possible
  • Keep actors’ skill set up-to-date and contemporary as new technologies emerge
  • Nurture young actors at the start of their careers
  • Deliver career-enhancing professional development to actors based outside of London
  • Support our theatre’s mission to showcase new work and mentor artists.

Gift Aid

If you are a UK taxpayer, the value of your donation can be increased by 25% under the Gift Aid scheme at no extra cost to you. Council Tax and VAT do not qualify towards Gift Aid.  All you need to do is let us know that you’re happy for us to make a Gift Aid claim on your donation.

You will need to confirm that you are a UK taxpayer and that you’re paying or will pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for this tax year (6 April to 5 April next year) that is at least equal to the claim that the Actors Centre will make on your donation.  We will also need to know your current UK address.

The Actors Centre acknowledges the generous support from Equity and a number of industry partners, trusts and individuals who enable us to continue our work and thrive as an organisation.
