The Tristan Bates Theatre has recently undergone an exciting redevelopment project which has seen the installation of a new lighting desk, improved soundproofing, a versatile new seating bank and 68 brand new, smart and comfortable seats. To celebrate this, and in recognition of the theatre’s birthday, we are launching a Name a Seat campaign.
Established in 1994 in memory of Actors Centre Patron Sir Alan Bates’ son, who died tragically young, the Tristan Bates Theatre is an intimate studio space committed to showcasing exciting and dynamic work. It’s supported early work in the careers of Mike Bartlett and Polly Stenham among others, and the theatre’s FIRST: Festival of Solo Performance is now supported by Arts Council England.
Naming a seat is a personal way for you to support the TBT’s work. Whether in your own name, in memory of a loved one or as a gift for someone special, your donation will enable us to continue to build on our reputation as an industry leader for artist development, to support artists shaping the landscape of British theatre and to programme original, innovative theatre for audiences to enjoy and engage with.
A gift of just £95 will be acknowledged by a plaque fixed to the back of your seat for 3 years inscribed with a name and/or message of your choice (maximum 30 characters). Your support will also be recognised on our website, www.tristanbatestheatre.co.uk and we would also like to show our appreciation by inviting you to join us at special Actors Centre and Tristan Bates Theatre events.
