This week-long course will give you a new perspective on the whole process of auditioning and a practical set of tools and guidelines that you can implement immediately. There will be many opportunities to practice your own approach to the many varying audition situations you might find yourself in – from TV, film and sitcom to self-tape, stage and commercials. As well as developing your audition technique we will also take a thorough look at your interview skills: making a good impression, making bold choices, listening to feedback and taking direction, and how to facilitate the most effective chat about the production. This is a fast, lively and practical course – you’ll lose your inhibitions, face your fears, build your confidence and feel ready to tackle whatever a real audition situation might throw at you.
Day 1 and 2: Contemporary and classical auditions for stage and how to nail the interview.
Please bring along a classical and a contemporary speech that you are familiar with.
Day 3 and 4: TV and film auditions, working with the camera, and casting tips and advice.
Day 5: Mock casting session and how to self-tape with Casting Networks.
A mock casting using Fastcapture in a real studio (each participant will do an ident and a commercial audition), followed by a 3-hour technical self-tape presentation providing all the information and knowledge actors will need to go away and produce a successful and professional self-tape (including kit demonstration).
To be announced.
