Meet Krupa Pattani:
Krupa’s breakthrough role as Shazia Khan in BBC One’s hit comedy Citizen Khan made her regular on British TV screens last year.
Training at Drama Studio London Krupa was nominated for the Spotlight Prize.
Krupa started out onstage playing Anita in a staged version of Victoria Wood’s Dinnerladies in number one venues across the UK. She went on to work with leading theatre companies across the country, like Tamasha Theatre Company, Tara Arts, Octagon Theatre Bolton, Chester’s Grosvenor Park Open Air theatre, Belgrade Theatre Coventry and Soho theatre.
After building strong foundations in theatre Krupa went on to work in TV, Radio and Film, playing parts in BBC’s MI High, ITV’s Emmerdale, starring as Meera Syal’s daughter ‘Anu’ in BBC Radio North’s comedy drama Bindi Business and as Seema in Lesley Manning’s independent feature Honeycomb Lodge which won best film in its category at the Delhi Film Festival.
The last year has culminated in an EEACTA award ‘best actress in theatre’ for her work as vibrant and star-crossed lover Caneze in Tamasha Theatre Company’s Blood.
Krupa returns to our TV screens later this year on BBC One in series five of Citizen Khan.
