Run by Chiara D'Anna, one of the leading practitioners in the UK, this masterclass in Commedia dell'Arte offers the opportunity to discover and expand fundamental skills for any performance setting: body and space awareness, physical stamina, a clear understanding of rhythm-tempo and, of course, comic timing.
Sunday 27 October: 10.30 - 17.30
This workshop offers an introduction to the methods of Jacques Lecoq. Matthew Coulton will give instruction on how to access and portray emotions through physical movement and gain a better awareness of your own body and its ability to communicate and perform.
Tuesday 29 October: 10.30 - 13.30
Actor, movement director, and theatre maker Victoria Worsley leads this workshop on the elusive quality of 'presence' and how it relates to posture. This physical and detail-oriented course is a chance to see and feel what it is to be really present, vital and immediate on stage or camera through use of the Feldenkrais Method.
Saturday 2 November: 14.30 -17.30
Transformational Breathwork is a heart-opening practice that helps us release the stuck energy in our body that gets in the way of us being our most fearless, clearest and most emotionally available selves. Led by actress Lucy North, this workshop will help you release excess emotional energy left over from your last role before transitioning into a new one.
Sunday 3 November: 10.30 -17.30
Led by physical theatre teacher and mask-maker Vicky Wright, this workshop explores the technique of the neutral mask pioneered by Jacques Lecoq and Amleto Sartori to help gain awareness of the unique tools an actor brings to the stage. Principles of movement and physical theatre will be layered into the workshop.
Saturday 9 November & Sunday 10 November
Led by fight choreographer Keith Wallis, this two-day workshop is a fun intensive designed for anyone new to the world of stage combat as well as more experienced actors looking to brush up on their skills and stage fighting techniques. Participants will have the option to attain a basic certification in unarmed stage combat.
Wednesday 20 November: 14.30 - 17.30
Theatre consultant and holistic coach Ségolène Scheuer guides this workshop, which uses a blend of movement techniques to help prepare the body for performance and create a routine to look after your main work tool and embrace emotions and connection through movement.
Thursday 5 December & Friday 6 December: 10.30 -17.30
A two-day workshop with Artistic Director and Movement Director Peter Bramley, developing practical skills for staging and performing solo work, focusing specifically on the use of space, the body and the audience.
