The Actors Centre

12 Days of Christmas

25 September 2017

Perform in the Tristan Bates Theatre

From 11 to 22 December, the Actors Centre will be taking over the Tristan Bates Theatre to host a 12-day festival that celebrates our members by giving you the opportunity to present your work. Whether you’ve been developing a new play, shooting a short film, writing sketches, perfecting your spoken word, or just want the chance to perform a musical number or two, we’re here to give you a platform to share your talent.

Getting involved is easy: all you have to do is read the information below regarding our three different programming strands (Theatre, Open Mic, Short Film) and fill out the relevant form.

Applications close Friday 13 October at 5pm.

We are looking to programme a wide array of new work for one-off rehearsed readings and work-in-progress performances, irrespective of genre. These can be ensemble pieces or solo shows, and you can apply with a completed work or an extract from a longer play. We will also provide up to £150 to support the development of the piece.

Please ensure that your submission meets all the following criteria:

  • 20-60 minutes in length
  • minimal technical requirements
  • previously unperformed in London

Sign up to perform in one of our Open Mic nights! Whether your talents lie in musical theatre, spoken word, stand-up, acoustic music, dance or something entirely different, we want to hear from you. A fantastic opportunity to get on stage for a 5-10 minute set, sharing what you love to do.

Please note that participation in our Open Mic nights is only open to Actors Centre members at present.

Been involved in a short film recently? Doesn’t matter if you were the writer, director, producer, costume maker, sound recordist or lead – if you’ve got a film you’re proud of then we want to see it! Short film screenings are being programmed in association with the Actors Screen Collective (ASC).

Please note that participation in our Short Film screening is only open to Actors Centre members and/or the Actors Screen Collective at present.
