Tristan Bates Theatre

‘The lovely Tristan Bates Theatre…. a safe bet for a great night out’ The Stage

As part of the Actors Centre, the Tristan Bates Theatre (TBT) presents a year-round programme of professional work dedicated to supporting and showcasing new writing, contemporary theatre and work by national and international companies. Quarterly seasons are aligned with the Actors Centre’s workshop programme, designed to support and complement each other for the benefit of members, artists and audiences.

The TBT’s vision is to support actors, artists and companies in presenting high quality work alongside developing their own careers. We also provide a range of benefits for Actors Centre Members including dedicated subsidised space in each programme for Members’ own productions and showcases as well as discounted tickets and hire rates.

Opened in 1994, the TBT is dedicated to the memory of Tristan Bates, son of Actors Centre Patron Sir Alan Bates, an aspiring actor who died at the age of 19. Recently refurbished thanks to the support of The Foyle Foundation, the venue offers one of the most comfortable, flexible and welcoming studio spaces in central London, and shares the Actors Centre’s Green Room cafe-bar.

The space is also available to hire for readings, showcases and other events. For further information and to see what’s on, visit, or email [email protected] with any enquiries.
