The Actors Centre is the UK’s leading organisation offering continual professional development for actors throughout their careers. Working with some of the highest regarded international performers and coaches across theatre, film and television, we bring our expertise and experience into the business world, offering a unique theatrical approach to professional training. We run a number of corporate workshops, where we utilise acting techniques to enhance communication.
"The centre provides a unique service helping professional actors improve their skills and exercise their talents and so provides the entertainment industry as a whole with a pool of practised, inquiring artists." Sir Anthony Hopkins
Enhance the Customer Experience
This series of workshops are specifically for restaurateurs and staff to introduce the fundamentals of movement, voice, storytelling and interaction, highlighting aspects that can enhance a more effective performance and customer experience.
Over the course of three workshops we will discover the framework to enable each individual to confidently display their personality in a professional setting. Ultimately each will strive to find their own individual presence with customers, yet working on building an ensemble is essential to the performance of the restaurant overall; finding a common style for the whole team will result in a stronger restaurant brand and overall experience for the customer.
"We found the workshops to be engaging, fun and very beneficial. The techniques and skills the team took from these sessions are invaluable and are used every day in the restaurant. Our aim was to help the team understand that voice, movement and improvisation are just some of the key foundations needed to fulfil the role a Storyteller here at The Fat Duck.” Dimitri Bellos, Restaurant Manager at The Fat Duck

Speaking with Confidence
This one day course aims to develop each participant’s confidence and ability to speak publicly. We will assess each individual’s concerns around public speaking, and evaluate your current performance through use of voice, body language and energy to convey the message.
Using tailored acting techniques we will then provide the framework to overcome nerves, eliminate bad habits and increase your proficiency to connect and interact with an audience. While conducted in a group setting, this workshop will have a large emphasis on the individual, to ensure you are receiving the correct direction to convey your personality and individual style.
Participants should prepare a 2 minute talk for this workshop on a topic of your choice (ideally something related to work). You will have the option to work from bullet points or notes when delivering the speech at the end of the session, but for exercises it is necessary to have a full speech written down. Presentations will be delivered in front of the group at the end of the workshop.
This course can be arrange for a private group, otherwise there are a number of dates booked throughout the year where individuals can participate. You can see future dates by viewing our upcoming workshops.

"The day workshop on Meisner Technique was incredible. Scott was insightful, constructive and a delight to work with. The students gained new insights into acting and being in the moment, and have continued to ask for a return visit. It was a pleasure to work with the Actors Centre on this and other activities, and it is a relationship we are very keen to develop further. I would recommend them to anyone interested in the professional world of acting." Maggie Tarver, Course Leader in Acting & Performance at Solent University
