Salary £24,000-£26,000. Full Time, Permanent.
The Actors Centre is looking for a self-motivated professional with an entrepreneurial spirit to act as Operations Manager, with the primary task of developing a new 50 seat studio theatre in our unique Covent Garden venue.
The Actors Centre is the UK’s leading organisation for supporting actors throughout their careers, where actors can meet, attend workshops, or rent studios. Our Green Room operates as an actors’ space during the day; in the evening, as a fully licenced bar servicing both actors and the audience for our own Tristan Bates Theatre.
As an Operations Manager, you will have unparalleled organisational and budgetary skills, and a passion for bringing order and efficiency to the hectic day to day running of the Actors Centre. Your attention to detail will set you apart from others, and your proven experience of venue maintenance will be matched by your hands-on approach to daily issues and your can-do attitude. Your experience as a team manager goes hand in hand with your in-depth knowledge of what it takes to run a busy building.
You will be applying for this role because you are also passionate about the performing arts, and perhaps have already worked in a theatre or arts centre environment.

Salary £30,000 - £33,000. Permanent, Full Time.
The Actors Centre is growing, and we are looking for a confident and experienced General Manager to lead on staffing and finance during this exciting time for this vibrant arts charity in our unique and buzzing venue in the heart of Covent Garden. This role provides great potential for the right person to influence the AC agenda and help build revenue streams, working closely with creatives, an opportunity which makes this much more than just an operational position.
This is a senior role, in partnership with the Creative Producer (CEO), allowing you to develop the people and systems we need for the future, in a building fit for purpose, and to develop our funding and income strategies. You will be principal liaison with our Board of Trustees, and your experience and maturity will be vital in supporting them and ensuring all legal responsibilities are complied with.
The Actors Centre’s mission is to develop people who dare to create, through our values of innovation, empowerment and professionalism. Actors can meet and network, attend workshops to develop their skills, or rent studios to develop work. The Green Room is a fully licenced bar servicing both our members and the audience for our own Tristan Bates Theatre.
As General Manager, you will have effective leadership and strategic skills, and proven experience of financial systems, staffing and facilities management. We use project working, and it will be a bonus if you have previous knowledge and experience of this valuable communications tool. Your overall communication skills will be superb, as will your knowledge of HR and your experience of managing staff teams. This will be matched by your hands-on capabilities with finance functions, as well as your gift for broader strategic thinking.
You will be applying for this role because you are enthusiastic about the performing arts and about supporting actors, and also have a passion to grow our organisation by helping to deliver our two-year business plan. If you have a "can do" attitude and are ready to get stuck into this busy and vibrant organisation then we want to hear from you.
