Peter has worked as a director or producer in both the theatre and television for over forty years, and was Chair of the Actors Centre.
Having trained as an actor and teacher at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, he quickly moved into direction in the provincial theatre at Salisbury, Watford, and Guildford.
He moved into television through the Film Director John Boorman. From 1989-94, he was Head of Drama Series for BBC Television. Peter has been involved with many of the most successful series in British Television at the BBC and ITV as both a Director and Producer, including Colditz with Robert Wagner, Richard the Third with Edward Woodward , Midsomer Murders, The Onedin Line , The Bill, and Sherlock Holmes.
He has served on the Councils of The Royal Television Society, BAFTA, the Directors’ Guild of Great Britain, and Tara Arts.
Recent theatre credits include co-directed Barefoot in the Park with Maureen Lipman at the Arnaud Theatre Guildford and a National Tour. He currently teaches at ALRA and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
