"Just one visit to the Actors Centre will make you want to help it flourish"
-
Sir Ian McKellen

Do you feel passionate about the performing arts? Join our group of cultural philanthropists and help us nurture and support the talent that makes the UK’s theatre, TV and Film admired throughout the world.

Only through the generous donations of individuals, trusts and foundations, corporations and statutory bodies can the Actors Centre:

  • Support the ongoing professional development of over 2600 actors a year by keeping training prices as affordable as possible.

  • Inspire and equip a new generation of actors to deliver the classics.

  • Keep actors’ training up-to-date as new technologies emerge.

  • Create groundbreaking projects to improve diversity in the profession and make the faces you see on screen or on stage more reflective of Britain today.

  • Nurture young actors at the start of their careers

  • Deliver career-enhancing training to actors based outside of London.

There are a number of ways you can support the Actors Centre. To find out more about any of the options listed below or to discuss how your gift could help us today, please contact the development team on +44 (0)20 7632 8007 or by email development@actorscentre.co.uk

Individuals

Most of the donations received by the Actors Centre have come from individuals; members, friends, supporters, and it is through them that the Centre has been sustained for so long. All donations are welcome, and many small donations can add up to a sizeable sum.

Making a donation

As an individual you may feel that you would like to make a contribution directly towards a particular area of the Actors Centre’s activities - perhaps helping to support an outreach project, sponsor a workshop, or contributing towards a new production. The Actors Centre is a charity so donations are tax deductable and if you choose to Gift Aid your donation, then your money works even harder as the Government adds 20% on top.

Leaving a legacy

You don’t have to be rich to leave legacies to charity. Many people leave legacies to charities in their will, benefiting and one of the advantages of so doing is the reduction of inheritance tax on their estates.

If enjoyment of theatre, film and TV has been an important part of your life, why not arrange to support the organisation that looks after the mainstays of the entertainment profession after your death? Actors will continue to need the Actors Centre as long as the profession exists, and your bequest will ensure that this unique organisation will flourish far into the future. Your gift could commemorate a loved one, thus perpetuating a name in an area which means a lot to them.

There are three main types of legacy. Your solicitor is best placed to advise you which would best suit your circumstances and resources.

  • Residuary Legacies The gift of the whole or share of your estate, after the settlement of debts and all specific gifts made by your will.

  • Pecuniary Legacies A gift of a specific cash sum.

  • Specific gift of personal possessions i.e. books, costumes, art, archive material. Leaving shares is another popular method of charity giving

Please inform us if you wish to support the Actors Centre by leaving a legacy so that we can acknowledge your generosity.
