Terms & Conditions of Room Hire
- The hirer will be liable for any insurance claims and for indemnifying the Actors Centre in respect of any insurance claims arising from activities in connection with the hire. The Actors Centre is not insured for hirers' personal or company property or possessions and cannot accept liability for any loss or damage.
- The Actors Centre reserves the right to request any hirers to leave where any of the Terms and Conditions are not complied with, with no refund.
- All studio hires must be paid for in advance unless account terms have been agreed with the Actors Centre.
- Pencil bookings may be held for a maximum of three working days.
- Once a booking is confirmed, cancellations made before 10am on the previous working day will be subject to the minimum 2 hour fee for that room. If a cancellation is made later than this, the full fee will be payable.
- No VAT is charged on room hires.
- Hirers must leave the rooms promptly at the designated times as others may be waiting to come in.
- Any overrun on a booking will be charged at the full hourly rate.
- No noisy activities (eg raised voices, musical work, banging furniture or doors, running) are permitted in the Rehearsal Studio or Patricia Lawrence Room after 6pm on weekdays or at any time on weekends or Bank Holidays due to noise restrictions. Banging furniture and any work that involves stomping is not permitted in the John Thaw Media Studio after 6pm on weekdays or at any time on weekends or Bank Holidays although raised voices and musical work is permitted.
- No filming is permitted as part of a room hire unless by prior arrangement.
- You are not permitted to run classes or profitmaking activities in hired rooms at the Actors Centre.
- No food is permitted in the studios
- Hot drinks can only be brought in in plastic cups
- The Green Room Café Bar can provide catered refreshments for you and your guests, please contact the Green Room Manager to arrange this in advance. If the hirer wishes to provide their own refreshments this can only be arranged in advance with the Green Room Manager and a corkage charge will apply.
- No audience may be invited to watch any reading or presentation in a hired studio at the Actors Centre without the express permission of the Theatre Manager.
- No smoking or use of naked flame is permitted in any studio.
- The hirer must provide the name of a designated representative for the hire, who shall be present and responsible throughout the duration of the hire.
- The room can only be made available to the designated representative after payment for the booking has been received (unless account terms have been arranged).
- A list of all names of guests arriving associated with the hire must be made available to the duty receptionist before the start of the booking.
- The hirer and any guests associated with the hire must undertake to comply with the health and safety procedures of the building, to include reasonable behaviour, signing in and out with reception, and room capacities.
- The designated representative must sign off the booking with reception when the hire is over, and the room is vacated and restored to good order.
- The Actors Centre accepts no responsibility for children on its premises: any children permitted to enter the building in connection with a room hire MUST be accompanied by a responsible chaperone.
- Pianos are provided in the John Curry Room, the John Thaw media Studio and the Vocal Studio: unless otherwise stated, no other equipment usage is included in the room hire fee.
- If you require more chairs or tables please ask reception. If you move any furniture from another studio you must return it at the end of your hire.
- Additional fees will be charged for TV and DVD hire if required.
