TALENT BOOST 2010 - APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN

Following the huge success of Talent Boost 2008 and 2009 the Actors Centre, in association with Graeae Theatre Company, is delighted to announce Talent Boost 2010 - our BBC-supported initiative to discover, train and enrich the pool of disabled and ethnically diverse screen actors. Talent Boost 2010 aims to expand casting options, providing creative opportunities for participants from communities across the UK that are currently underrepresented in the broadcasting industry.

This year Talent Boost will train a cohort of 20 disabled and non-disabled actors alongside each other in London and Leeds. Our aim is to profile actors with physical and sensory impairments, and actors from minority communities, specifically South Asian, East Asian, Eastern European, Middle Eastern, Black British and Mixed Race. We will equip these actors with well-developed skills as on-screen performers and redress in some measure the imbalance in disabled and minority representation across the industry.

You do not have to be an experienced actor to take part, but you must demonstrate talent, flair and ambition. We welcome applications from anyone over the age of 16. We are especially interested in training people who wish to enter the profession later in their lives. And remember, it’s never too late!

If you meet these criteria, we want to meet you.
