Actors Centre patron

Dear Members,

I am excited to announce that Rafe Spall has become a Patron of the Actors Centre and I wanted to share this news with our members first before it goes public!

From our founder Patron Lord Olivier, through to Sir Alec Guinness, Sir Alan Bates and Julie Walters CBE, in our long history the Actors Centre and its membership has been lucky to work with and enjoy the support of some truly amazing Patrons, actors who couple great commercial and critical success with a solid, workmanlike dedication to their craft.

As the Actors Centre works to develop, improve and revitalise every aspect of its operations over the forthcoming months, from its programme, Green Room Café and membership structures, we are thrilled to welcome Rafe Spall as our newest Patron to support us at this very exciting time.

Rafe has already built an enviable career for himself, with film roles in Anonymous, One Day, Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead and most recently Prometheus by the acclaimed Ridley Scott along with theatre roles at the National, the Royal Court and the Donmar Warehouse. He represents a young, talented British performer who has now become an international name and continues a tradition of British actors being at the forefront of great world class acting.

In accepting the position of Patron Rafe said “Speaking as someone who took a rather unconventional route into the profession, learning on the job, the flexibility and breadth of support, resource and on-going training the AC offers is a godsend for the working actor.”

Rafe’s first official act as Patron will be presenting the 2012 Alan Bates Bursary to winner Elliot Barnes-Worrell, an outstanding emerging actor who we are pleased to welcome to our membership.

We are looking forward to a bright future and wish to thank both Rafe and you, the membership, for your continuing support, enthusiasm and belief in the Actors Centre and its mission; to support and nurture actors throughout their professional careers.

All the best,

Louise Coles
Chief Executive
